Description
Hello, good people! I’m Saint Basil, also you know me as Basil the Great. I was born in Pontus around the year 329 and died in Caesarea on January 1, 379. I thank you good people for celebrating me on this date every year. In addition to my work as a theologian, I was known for my care of the poor and underprivileged humans.
By my goodness I was an adviser, teacher, guide towards heavenly things, which I brilliantly interpreted. My soul was inspired by my love for God, I’ve created the Divine Liturgy and the Special Prayers for the Remission of Sins and, beyond any controversy as to the paternity, the unity of the spirit animating them is obvious.
In my time I was, and I promise you that I will continue to be a “pillar of Orthodoxy”.
